‘Good Morning Football’ to make brief return

‘Good Morning Football’ to make its return for the NFL’s schedule release

Though NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” is on a hiatus as it transitions from New York to the league’s headquarters in Los Angeles, the beloved show will make a brief return this week.

NFL media announced on Monday that “GMFB” will air a two-hour schedule release special on Wednesday at 7 a.m. ET. It will feature regular hosts Kyle Brandt, Peter Schrager and Jason McCourty as well as Sherree Burruss, who's a host and sideline reporter for NFL Network.

It’s not the first time that the “GMFB” crew made a surprise return. The show aired special draft episodes on Apr. 25, 26 and 27 with Brandt, Schrager and McCourty joined by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Jane Slater.

“GMFB” originally aired weekdays at 9 a.m. ET, but with the show moving production from the East to West coast, it’s not known if it will switch time slots or even in if it will have a new set of hosts.

Though Brandt, Schrager and McCourty will be on camera for Wednesday’s special, none of the three have confirmed if they will return when the show officially ends its hiatus later this summer.

Jamie Erdahl is the only one of the original hosts who’s confirmed she will stay with the show through its move across the country. The monthslong break came at a perfect time for Erdahl, who is currently on maternity leave.

Aside from Erdahl’s acknowledgement that she’ll resume hosting duties when “GMFB” returns from its hiatus, NFL Network hasn’t made any other details public about the show’s future.
