Panthers earn a passing offseason grade from national outlet as the 2024 NFL Draft nears

The best move for the 2024 NFL offseason for the Carolina Panthers was bringing in head coach Dave Canales and general manager Dan Morgan. 

Besides that, the Panthers added to the offensive line with two big guards and traded for a former 1,000-yard wide receiver. 

For all the moves made by the Panthers, Bleacher Report gave the team a "B-" for the offseason, with several moves still sitting in the "wait and see" position. 

Here is what Bleacher Report had to say about the offseason moves thus far: 

"The Panthers did some work to improve their offense, notably bolstering the line with the likes of Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis. Trading for Diontae Johnson will give Young a capable if somewhat inconsistent target, though Carolina still needs a true No. 1 receiver."

The object of the offseason was to get Young help. Carolina did exactly that. In Canales, the Panthers have a quarterback-minded head coach. With Johnson, the Panthers got a true pass-catcher with good upside. Then with Hunt and Lewis, Young has someone to protect him when he drops back to pass. 

When looking at every move on paper, it all makes sense – offensively. 

Where things remain unknown, however, is on the defensive side of the ball. 

Seeing how well D.J. Wonnum, Jadeveon Clowney, Dane Jackson and company play in 2024 is a wait-and-see affair.

Still, if it were up to me, I'd give the Panthers an A- grade for all the work done thus far.
