The 3 Most Exciting Games on the Chiefs Schedule

As reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs kick off their season with the first game on the NFL schedule. However, while the AFC Championship rematch will be exciting, it might not be the best on the schedule. Kansas City will face several talented rosters who would like nothing more than to take down the defending champs. The Chiefs have a target on their backs, and these three games could determine the overall success of the season.

The 3 Best Games on the Chiefs Schedule

3. Week 14 vs Chargers

Brandon Staley and Tom Telesco are gone in one of the biggest examples of addition by subtraction. While the Chargers don’t have the most talented roster, they’re the biggest threat to Kansas City in the AFC West. Justin Herbert is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and even if Jim Harbaugh can’t bring his Michigan magic to the NFL, he can’t be worse than Staley. Los Angeles always brings their best to this matchup, and while their offense is low of pass-catching talent, their defense has the potential to be dangerous.

The pass-rushing trio of Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, and Tuli Tuipulotu has the potential to be one of the best in the league. This ferocious trio combined with names like Kristian Fulton, Derwin James, and Asante Samuel Jr in the secondary should lead to solid results under an improved scheme. The Chargers might not be ready to win the AFC West, but the Chiefs shouldn’t overlook this matchup on the schedule.

2. Week 11 at Bills

Josh Allen versus Patrick Mahomes is probably the closest we’ll ever get to Peyton Manning versus Tom Brady. While the Chiefs are currently winning this rivalry, their past two playoff matches could’ve gone either way. Even though Stefon Diggs is no longer in town, Allen should still lead one of the most effective offenses in the league. At the end of the day, he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the game and should be able to get strong results out of Dalton Kincaid, Curtis Samuel, and Khalil Shakir.

The Bills lost several big names on the defense, but not a lot in terms of actual talent. Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, and Tre’Davious White were all past their prime or injured last year, so Buffalo shouldn’t struggle to replace them. Despite all the changes to Buffalo’s roster, this should be must-watch TV that could determine home-field advantage in a possible playoff matchup.

1. Week 16 vs Texans

The NFL’s current dynasty faces off against what could be their next great challenger in Week 16. Even though this isn’t a divisional matchup, the Chiefs should circle this game on their schedule. C.J. Stroud set the world on fire as a rookie, and now he’s adding Stefon Diggs to a loaded receiver room featuring Nico Collins and Tank Dell. With a strong offensive line and great coaching staff, this offense has the potential to go blow-for-blow with any attack in the league. As if that wasn’t enough, Houston spent the offseason fortifying their pass rush with great players like Danielle Hunter, Denico Autry, and Azeez Al-Shaair. This game promises to be one of the most memorable of the season and could even determine who earns the coveted bye week in the playoffs.
