Longtime Cubs reliever Pedro Strop is eyeing a comeback attempt, as the right-hander made clear when tweeting out video of himself throwing a bullpen session.
In what’s quickly becoming a viral video, former Chicago Cubs pitcher Pedro Strop appears to have found his next profession. MLB reporter Hector Gomez recently tweeted a snippet of the music video for Strop's song "Los Cuernos," and I’ll let you be the judge of it: Talk about a sound that’ll get you dancing in the shower.
Pedro Strop should go down as one of the most underrated, under appreciated players in Chicago Cubs history. A throw-in piece of the Jake Arrieta trade with the Baltimore Orioles, the right-hander’s name is littered throughout team record books when it comes to relievers.
Strop was away from the Cubs on a leave of absence due to personal reasons. Details surrounding that absence were not revealed, and it’s not clear at this point whether he’ll pursue an opportunity with another club.
It isn’t clear when, or even if, Strop could return to action.
The 33-year-old will now get the opportunity to latch on with a club in need of a veteran outfielder.
Puig has gained a reputation during his career as someone who isn't particularly liked by opposing teams. That was clearly the case on Saturday as Strop’s throwing at Puig’s leg appeared to be intentional.
